do i need a mixer to do what he does at 2:58?

(i don't know how much knowledge you have of dj gear so i'll keep it simple)
dj gear should always be hooked up something like this: minimal 2 music sources (cdj's for example)plugged into a mixer and then the mixer goes from its output to the input on the amplifier wich goes eventually to the speakers the sound can be made by the cdj but you will of course need something to transfer that sound to your speakers because else you wouldn;t be able to hear it:p
hope i've been a help
