If it wasn't for my teacher (Lt. Col. Roy) I wouldn't have graduated from high school. At that time my parents were going through a divorce. Lt. Col. Roy made sure I came to school on time and was doing well. He even contacted my other teachers to see how I was doing in their classes. I resented him for it then, but I am more than grateful to him now. If he or anyone who knows him reads this, Thanks Col. Roy for everything. I am doing great now and a lot of that is because of you!!!! S1 of '96

As an aspiring high school English teacher, this guy is one of my role models along with two other teachers who have profoundly impacted the way that I view school teachers.

There will always be unappreciative children who want to be anywhere but in class. But there will always be appreciative ones, too. And for them, for their future, I want to teach.
