LaRouchePAC Presents: 1932

To Govern a Republic, One Must Know the Minds That Created It.

"...while a nation goes speculation crazy the people neglect to think of fundamental principles."

These were the words of Franklin Roosevelt in the months leading into the Democratic National Convention of 1932. Roosevelt knew that the fight for the United States Presidency was not simply a game of political machines and punditry, but that this coming fight demanded a leader who understood the historic enemy of the United States and the founding principles of the nation.

lol Not alot of people realize that the south sold out to England for financing; I cant think of a more treasonous action for these so called patriots.

Take a look at unemployment rates from 1929 to 1940. It is clear that the actions of Hoover and then Roosevelt caused the Depression to attempt to prevent a recession. Gov intervention creates distortion in the market. Roosevelt did nothing to help get us out of the Depression, he made it last ten years. It was only by sending 12 million men overseas in 1941 that unemployment was solved. GDP is no measure to determine how well the people of a country are doing economically. Keynes = FDR

It is sad that you believe that.
jjrglobal (November 2, 2008 at 8:01 pm)
It's not a belief, it is mere historical fact. Look at the unemployment numbers from 1929 to 1940. How can you anyone say for sure that the actions taken were right or wrong? I'm just saying that unemployment did not get below 18% until our entry into the war. That's a fact, and I don't consider 18% acceptable especially for the lowest figures. It's sad you can't reply with any evidence that FDR did anything but hurt the economy, because we are making the same mistakes today.

When you say economy what do you mean?

Figures aren't a real gauge.

FDR put forward funding for massive infrastructure projects, reorganized the banking system, and got the nation building up the necessary infrastructure for a higher standard of living.

Take the REA providing electricity to rural farmers and how much more productive and happy they became. To think you can keep a chicken in a warm environment with lights and they will keep making eggs!

I think that was one I accidentally deleted...
