this was very cool - why's everybody all pissed & trying to compare Cuban Rumba to Ballroom Rumba? for that matter, has anyone even considered Gypsy Rumba as well? Whatev, Janet's adorable and I love how she says 'two' when she's counting it out... lol

there are two different types of rumba
theres ballroom one which i have a feeling you thinking off as in something like strictly come dancing version

The music is NOT guaguanco! The percusion is playing tumbao, bass tumbao, piano montuneando, clave is playing clave de son. In Puerto Rico and New York this would be salsa.

Read the video description. They're teaching Rumba movement to be used in salsa dancing. Hence, they demonstrated it to salsa music.

Primero, no se la escribe "rhumba" sino rumba.
La musica que ponen no es rumba y en Cuba no se dice salsa sino bailar casino. La rumba se evolucionaba en CUBA. Tiene sus origenes en la musica religiosa cubana que si vino de africa. La "rumba" no es un ritmo sino una catagoria de ritmos. eg. rumba columbia, rumba gauganco, rumba yambu, etc... lo que ellos estaban bailando no fue nada tradicional. Ademas, el baile de Rumba guaguanco es una improvisacion. (Perdone la falta de acentos.)
