It was an uncomfortable time for both races to be on stage. By this time Seeger was already being persecuted for his liberal views and accused of being socialist. So I guess they both has reason to feel some apprehension!

Did you ever hear the Lomax interviews with Blind Willie McTell .. they were similiarly embarrassing, but, Willie handled them.
