People in favor of downloading would normally say yes. They don't need you telling them to do so.

"You actually think it's "cool" to steal from the workers of the world?"

It annoys me when the anti-piracy ads go for that when they're paying actors ten million plus. Piracy isn't fair. Neither is the amount of money the actors think they deserve for their work. The system is balancing it's self.

"Are you fucking kidding me? So watching a movie with a friend is a crime."

It will be. But there's a difference in scale between showing your friend the film when they're round and seeding copies to a few thousand people.

You actually think it's "cool" to steal from the workers of the world? You think honesty is "silly?" Tens of millions of workers are harmed by pirates. Why not make everything free and throw everyone out of work and completely destroy the economy.

A great movie called "Steal This Film" is out for download on thepiratebay. These guys have their own political party. They are heroes.

Are you fucking kidding me? So watching a movie with a friend is a crime. Well, it probably is, but no one will prosecute that case.

There is no point in bantering about on whether it is ethical or not to download movies, music etc. The facts are, it's cool to be a pirate and people who think otherwise are just silly. I'd like to recommend Peer Gaurdian to all the cool uber pirates out there. It helps protect against girly music maffia dorks.

in the DVD example, i'm reasonably sure that'd class as a public showing, which isn't allowed under the terms of use. data doesn't wear down, it has an effectively infinite lifespan, so a single copy is all that's needed for everyone and those copies can be used simultaneously. the car example isn't like that, only one person can use it at a time and it wears down with use, which is why it's different. i'm not against torrents, but the act it's self is certainly breaching fair use

Let's say you legally buy a new car... wouldn't you have the right to borrow it to a friend?
Or if you buy a new DVD wouldn't a friend be allowed to watch it with you or even when you are away?
It's sharing...

"all against go F*CK your self its NOT stealing it is SHARING like you SHARE you things with your friends."

it is stealing. you bought the right to use the item yourself, not to share it with your friends
