Ok im tired of this Metallica vs. Megadeth bullshit...here is a simple solution...if u like metallica better, listen to metallica..if u like megadeth better, listen to megadeth, if u like both, listen to both..if u dont like either..dont listen to either of them...CASE SOLVED

Ok, but I don't think that alone explains it. In the Metallica biography (by Joel Mciver?) it says that they played Call of Ktulu live just prior to the recording of RTL (Mustaine was long gone at this point) and it was much looser and more of a jam still then.

There seems to be no question, though, that Mustaine wrote the "main theme" which I think he sort of used (chords) later on Megadeth's Hangar 18.

Well, I think the only "evidence" Mustaine has ever offered is him babbling about "a spider chord". It seems to me like some riff/riffs remind(s) of something he has done, and that's about it. I mean, Mustaine is a guy who once said that Pantera own their whole career to him or something.
