Donnomar- "a fake guy with the eyes half shut"- what does that even mean? Bruce Lee was an "actor" in the sense that Arnold Schwarzenegger or Jean-Claude Van Damne are "actors". Name one Bruce Lee film in which there was greater emphasis on dialog than combat?

I dont think so Caine is a calm person Bruce Lee was too agresive for the rol.

I agree with echozgus- Bruce Lee, while obviously a spectacular martial arts master, would not have been good for this role. He was too intense and high-strung for a show which emphasized things like dialog, and Caine's quiet strength much more than actual combat scenes, which only appeared in a few scenes per episode.

All the show idea, philosophy etc are creation of Bruce Lee. He sold the idea to Hollywood producers and they liked it but they wanted a white guy to play the main role. Regarding the comments that Bruce Lee was not proper for the role, he is an actor! He can play any role, the Bruce Lee you see in movies is a character, not the real Bruce Lee! He didnt go around breaking peoples spine. Who can play the role better than his own creator, a real Chinese not a fake guy with the eyes half shut

I watched every episode and it was perfect as it was. Bruce Lee suited other roles better. It's a shame that Lee didn't get more recognition whilst in the US as he could have done so much more.

That's what I heard as well.
If you've ever seen the Movie "Dragon" it alludes that the concept for "Kung Fu" came from Bruce Lee while he was doing the "Green Hornet" series. They liked the idea, but thought Bruce looked "too oriental".
If they had used Bruce, it would have been a much better show.

wrong the show was created by americans they didn´t like Bruce Lee because he was too agresive in the casting they were looking for somebody more calm and quiet.
