One main thing that worries me about Japan is their views and stereotypes about people of African decent. In western culture it is popular to have dark skin, and as a result white women try to be orange. But in Japanese culture light skin is seen as beautiful, which is a big problem for people like me because my skin is black, I can't get lighter, and even if I could, I wouldn't want to. I know there will be plenty of people that will except me, I think it will be the older people that won't.

Oh, also... The girls are touching her hair because different ethnicites have different hair textures. I find a lot of people I meet wanting to touch my hair and compliment me about how fine and straight it is. So, touching someone else's hair doesn't seem awkward. The Jap. girl probably asked to touch it first, anyway, so she's not being rude.

It kind of irks me that the girls who are into the Western stuff want to be sooo... so... Westernized.
Little do they know, by trying to tan and dye their hair, they create a totally unique fashion that makes up Japan's fashion.
In a way, they're failing at trying to look Western makes them successful in fashion

yeah, it's cool that they're breaking from the norm of japanese society, but fake tans taken way out of proportion look terrible.

i don't understand why they want to be westernized. No offense to the West of course.
When they were touching the models' hair my reaction was 'what?'. It's a bit ridiculous.
