This abomination is not inevitable if good people will remain vigilant. The concept of "identity" that he is pushing is the kind that serves to cement class identity and the power of an authoritarian state system to control and maintain class identity and for the willing agents of such a state to destroy personal reputations on a scale without historical precedent (though it reminds me a little of 'Dr. Zhivago,' in its implications).

At least on the outset if something like this got implemented, some could continue to be anonymous, but it would get harder to get lost in the 'crowd.' Anonymous voices would get squelched in favor of people who stand behind their words. Anonymous buyers would find it harder to buy. Commerce will drive this.

This will be both a good thing & a bad thing, and to try to explain why would take up more space than YT allows. Needless to say, whether we agree with Dick or not, this IS inevitable.

Co sign. There will probably be a huge increase in the Internet marketplace if there a transparent system available for providing identity credentials.
