This is a tribute to all Prison facilities in the Philippines (8 and counting) who are now adopting this non-violent approach to rehabilitation! Thank you, inmates deserve a second chance! If we make prisons a living hell for them, then we might just be sending out devils once they are released. Cruel methods to achieve discipline are a thing of the past! So, keep on dancing!

excellent!!!
great idea, non violent, giving them some disipline, giving them a purpose, something to occupy them, exercise all rolled in to one
they probably really enjoy it, better than nothing i guess- plus they could put this on their cv!!! lol General Interests/Hobbies- i like dancing to pop songs!!!

i think it really just depends on the criminals motive and intentions

obviously if a person steals for reasons of just getting money
doesn't really compare to someone
stealing to put food on the table for his/her family

yes i agree, but the way i see it there's two ways:

1) kill all of the criminals
2) Rehabilitation

i am not against death sentence, but the minor inflictors (rapist, killers or kidnapers do NOT enter in this category) should have a way to go back to society in a better way than just with the mentality of: being a thief is the only answer and i hate the "man" i hate the ones who put me through it...

what do you think?
robertov19 (November 30, 2008 at 11:04 pm)
music is the answer!!

dancing, playing an instrument, a way of expresion, a way of socializing... and if you choose to believe, even a way to learn math (i know it is crazy but think about it, everything is beats and balance, the steps in the tuning, the harmony...)

prison is not meant for fun...what injustice..howd you feel if you were one of the victims and watching your son's killer or daughters rapist dancing and having fun in penitentiary...ive been through the pain...this is just not right..whoever initiated this whole program should stop and reflect..criminals are meant to suffer the consequence of their actions not go disco dancing in jail

this is an awesome idea. it's about time people started adopting more humane attitudes towards crime and rehabilitation. if you give up on a person- make the decision to never expect them to integrate in society again. Our system in the US needs help badly. Recidivism is at a ridiculous rate.

i have the documentary on my favorites
its called the jail house rock
since the new warden has started this the crime rate at the prison has dropped to zero and everyone is friends with each other

i think maybe more jails should do this
feel good music brings your soul back to life
well thats what i believe

Would you really have fun being forced to dance this? O.o

This actually gives them more of a sense of unity and since they've started doing this they cause less trouble in the prison too.
