Islam is pratical religion unlike other religion, i know many non muslim people select islamic bank, they dont want their money to spend on war or in wrong ways.
i m glad world's economical problem doesnt effect Islamic bank nor i heard of any Islamic bank goes down,
So read Quran and unsderstand what Islam says. forget about these evil media or dont learn Islam from non-muslim.

Is there a consensus amongst scholars concerning shorting stocks?
alphamain (October 5, 2008 at 10:22 pm)
Capitalism and Socialism practiced by US does not work as evident by the recent events. Islam has the solution. Unlike Judaism, muslims treat non-muslims and muslims alike - say no to oppressive usury based system.

Yes, you got that right. Just to share with you, Islam is encompassing everything. In Islam there is no such thing as separation between religion and others such as politics, criminal laws, economics etc. Secularism is not an option to muslims. It is time for muslims and non-muslims to know more about the alternative economy - free from usury.

why does islam have to isolate itself so much from the rest?
RoadToTheOne (October 5, 2008 at 10:28 am)
There is a difference between isolation and standing out amongst others; Islam is an open religion. It invites all to learn and embrace its principles; Muslims / non-Muslims alike may deal with an Islamic bank for exp. But Islam does not compromise on basic principles like forbidding interest charge for a good reason; look at the international financial crisis due to the burden of national debt that the interest based economy system and banks keep causing(answering in the context of the clip)

islam does not isolate but the west are the ignorant one when they gain knowledge from muslims scholars they show their nose in the air, technologies if not well use can be exploited. they always finds islam as conservative. But Islam have what is forbiden & what is not. we call it halal and haram. the wrong & right. Because Allah say so. Thee had set such rules through prophet Muhammad for us to follow. reply to PandemicMadness: why does islam have to isolate itself so much from the rest?

Basic of Islamic finance is using Dinar(gold coin) and Dirham(silver coin),not fiat money(Dollar,Rupiah,Euro,Pound etc).Islamic economy becomes perfect for 14 centuries ago by
using Dinar and Dirham as currency, more stable, zero inflation, not riba as forbidden.
