well its clear that these children are worried that increased goverenment funding for health insurance is a slippery slope to socialised healthcare - so your saying this is political issue- and a moral one when we ask them if they see univerisal healthcareas an unfair burden to tax payers (and if they want a lollipop) almost all children said yes.

This country gives everyone the opportunity to succeed.

i'm sure you do but there is not enough room for everybody to suceed. There will always be people, and a need for people, to do crummy low paid jobs such as garbage men, waitresses, street sweepers etc. The simple fact is these jobs dont pay enough to pay for living and health insurance.

The harsh truth about that is it's a competition to not have to have those sort jobs. That's also a beautiful aspect of it if you look at it from a different angle. Competition in a capitalistic society drive more productivity, self incentive to succeed, work harder. The poor in this country live much better than the poor anywhere else. This nation is the best nation in the world for that. It's not perfect but that's what makes it so great... Maybe my thoughts are too encrypted to be understood.

the fact is that there are poorly paid jobs that NEED doing. Simply having more money is enough of an incentive to do better. The least any civilisation can do is provide basic healthcare for those who do the underpaid, underrated yet vital jobs. People in England, Canada, France, many developed nations get free healthcare, and as a result are healthier, happier but no less motivated. Capitalism and free healthcare are far from incompatible.

Yes, capitalism is also in health care... Health care is an industry. That's the reason the quality of health care we have available is so good. Competition is what drives my father, a man who owns a small pharmacy in deep East Texas succeed. His prices, his superior service. It's a family business, my grandfather, now my father. Unfortunately I'm going on to become something else. The best thing we could do for these people is help them buy into the market not tear down the market completely.

in england we have a national health service. there are still family run chemists. there are still well paid doctors and nurses. what there isnt is greedy pharmecutical corporations charging ridiculous amounts for their products.

If we fight corruption of these corporations we could fix this problem. One of my best friends fathers was a doctor in England. He came to America because he could do much better, he wanted to compete. My personal physician is from Canada, he's a straight forward guy, he said it sucked. These people don't need to be working for the government, they need to be left alone and the market will decide while the government does it's job of policing corruption, that's all. From what I've heard it's :(
