Tried e17, but for the life of me couldn't get Amarok running on it... a biiiiiiiiiiig negative for me :\

IMO, it looks gaudy and unclean. I will stick to GNOME w/ AWN and compiz. I find it much more appealing then this.
I know some people like it, but when i see it all i see is like something from the 90's trying to look futuristic.

Enlightenment is intended to be lightweight yet contain eye candy. GNOME + Compiz focus on ease of use and functionality along with eye candy. I'd probably use Enlightenment more often if there were Compiz releases for it.

Compiz is a window manager. Enlightenment is a window manager. You can't run them both at the same time.

I know that but if there were some sort of "module" which would allow Compiz to be run under it (as has been requested on CF forums a few times though not really considered for practical reasons).

Hmmm...this module would give Enlightenment extra compositing functions. It wouldn't be CF in and of itself but rather lend e17 its abilities.

Yeah. My statement wasn't technically correct. E17 is nice but I always end up missing the features of CF.

What I like about Enlightenment in general is that its so lightweight and still manages to deliver eyecandy.

Same. The problem is I often end up missing some of the functionality provided by CF :/ (though additional aesthetics can't hurt either XD).
