uh, ai was the big innovation in the original Halo, not a fucking health recharge taken straight from a half-life mod

I think you're confused about what the word innovation means. Halo had good AI, sure, but it wasn't the first to have enemies who didn't just charge straight at the player. The recharging health, on the other hand, was new for video games. Maybe a mod did it first, but since its use in Halo it has become a standard mechanic in FPS games.

innovation does not, and should never mean a game borrows an idea and popularizes it

that would be like saying the fifth iteration of a song is innovative because it popularized it whereas the previous ones didn't

the ai was revolutionary and had so many innovations at the time that you can go read professional reviews of the game to see im right in saying so

you wouldn't read them anyway, you're defending some review by a kid of a 5 year old game. course i'm also critiqueing it hehe

Okay fair enough, but I really don't think Bungie copied the mechanic from the HL mod. It may have had the idea first, but they probably came up with the idea independently. Maybe they didn't, I don't know and chances are you don't either.

The reason I cited the health bar as being the big innovation was that for me playing the game it was the thing that stood out the most, hence it went into the review. Copying what I see written in other reviews is, IMO, not being very honest with my opinion.
