john lennons song was about as communist as you can get and considering this song is about the 60's and not the russian revolution it seems to me that lennin would be kind of random

John Lennon wasn't a communist.

Vladimir Lenin obviously was.

It just makes more sense that way.

I think that the Lennon part is referring to Vladimir Lenin. Because he read The Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx.

Hi Friends,
I've been working on a new blog called "DylanTube - The best Bob Dylan videos". dylantube. wordpress. com . It is basically a categorized collection of Bob Dylan videos I have found on YouTube. I hand pick the videos and write my thoughts about them while watching and then post it up on the blog.
Thank you for reading and I hope to talk to you soon.

I think he was talking about Lennon w/ Lenin being part of the word play. It just seems to fit the context of the song better. But who knows? Interp is usually tough w/ lyrics.

You had a picture of John Lennon up when it talked about reading the books of Marx. But I'm pretty sure he meant Lenin.
