i value your opinion iam not saying the tear for fears didn't sing it good i am just saying that the guy singing it need show a little bit more emotion singing it, i thank song is spost to a little happy and sad like the song says. i didn't attend to make any body angry i personally like gary jules version better.

rikkis right jules version brought the actual lyrics to light.they are actually brilliant lyrics.i personally prefer the original.i just love TFF

Its all a matter of opinion i guess. To me, the Jules version simply showcases and highlights the exceptional lyrics tears wrote. I think their version is so busy it distracts from the lyrics. sometimes simple is better. but in the 80's, this style would have sold better- so i can see why they chose this approach.

Exactly. If it were perhaps changed in some way, I could see Gary Jules version to be somewhat credible as good music...but all he did was copy the lyrics down, and make it more obvious that they are depressing and emotional. What an asshole! T4F 4 ever!

That's absolute baloney! Gary Jules is a joke compared to Tears 4 Fears. 30 years ago, these beats/synths were creepy and mind blowing. All Gary Jules did was slow it down about 20 bpm, but there's no way you can claim it to be better because he didn't write the amazing lyrics!

i think this is probably one of the few songs where the cover is far superior to the original. Its almost like they threw away there own lyrics when adding all the electronic garbage and choosing the tempo.

When i was in my teens, i use to dance at a disco just like him, i recorded the video and practice, so i like this song, the group and the next song is even better . . .
