Seriously, all respect to Elliot Smith, but Jeff's voice is haunting, passionate, and even terrifying. I don't hear that in Smith's voice. I do agree that Grace is not a fully realized album, but most of his fans know that, and also know he felt the same way about all of his work...that was part of his pain. He was too much a perfectionist to ever be fully satisfied with his work from what I have read and heard.

he might be not as good as elliot smith as most of you say but his songs are good and from the heart and to be fair due to his early passing he did not reach his full potential.His songs play a big part in my life and i owe him alot for this. His an extremly good artist and knows his shit so respect to him!!

I agree ... Jeff does have a far superior voice to elliott smith.. but i like elliot's songs more ... i just find them easier to digest ...
For example, i like almost every single song that elliot has ever written ... i just finished listening to Grace by Jeff and it's a bit "patchy" ... not all the songs stick with you. just my personal taste i guess.
