Equalibrum - Akai MPD32 Live Beat - Live Looping

Back

This was made using an MPD32, FL studio 7, And "Mobius" a free loop pedal VST.
I am using pads 13 and 14 to control the looping instead of using a foot pedal. The other pads are dedicated to sounds. The FF and RW button switch what sounds are on the pads. Some of the assignable buttons are set up to control other functions in Mobius also to turn on and off effects in the FL mixer.

This video is not a finished song like my MPD24 video but more of a video showing how powerful The MPD32 and software can be.

This is clock free beat creation. I am not using the sequencer in FL at all. FL is just a hosting the souunds and routing the sounds to the mixer track Mobius is on. Everything is triggered Live, Looped Live, Layered Live..switching the sounds on the pads is done live. Its freeform...however you play it in is how its looped..no mistakes allowed. You play it however you want live on the fly and loop it.

In the video I basically start messing with simple sounds triggered in live at different tempos and rhythms to show that its not locked into a certain BPM. Then to show how powerful it could be I go into a little live song i started..i get about half way through the song and play the same samples in differently in reverse order.

Everything is done without touching the computer ONCE!!!

I uploaded a FLtemplate file with instructions on the FLstudio forums.
Under the "looptalk" thread.

The next video will be a finished routine using this technique.

I'll be taking this video down after I have a better one.

Enjoy! The Possibilities are endless!

its a "controller"..
it controllers you computer software.
If the program you plan on using it with has default samples..then yes you can use the MPD32 to trigger/record into the program.

VERYVERYVERY nice! I have a question though. I am just a teenager and I am trying to start making music like sorta of the style u have. Well I was wondering is it worth to get the MPD32 instead of the 24? Which one gives me more freedom and more options for making my music? Any advice?

I love the 32. But the mpd24 is solid too. Both are good to work on. If you want to try and do live stuff..the more assignable buttons, sliders and knobs you have the better i guess.

That's very cool, man!! I like the idea of not using a locked tempo. Also, sounds & samples are nice and very well picked!!! Respect!!!!!

Btw: check out our MEG-Routine, different shit, but it's the same background. Keep it live!!!
